Winter Recap of happenings at Faith-based Yoga
We finished 2024 with a rich and supportive community at Faith-based yoga. My intention for Faith-based Yoga classes in December was to create a space for attendees to find peace and rest amidst the busyness and franticness of the holiday season. We enjoyed the soft ambient lighting of twinkle lights as the days grew shorter and classes became darker with the late afternoon fading sunlight. Each class ended with aromatic and calming essential oil. We even incorporated hot tea into our time on our mats.
Our devotions for the month of December, from Ruth Chou Simon’s book, Emmanuel, helped to prepare our hearts for the celebration of Christ’s birth.
I was so grateful to end the year together with all those who consistently make Faith-based yoga a part of their life. You all are a gift to my life.
We started 2025 with an exciting day at Group Expo, a New Years day showcase of group fitness classes at the Cleveland YMCA. It brings so much energy and excitement as people are ready for a fresh start.
Following this special event and start to the New Year, I love the spike in attendance at group fitness classes! People are desiring community and the right routine to feel healthy and strong. I love welcoming and returning attendees to Faith-based yoga. There is a place for anyone there, regardless of yoga experience level or stage of life.
Our devotions in January, from Ruth Chou Simon’s book Gracelaced, ushered our hearts through winter with themes of “resting in God’s character.” I need these reminders that winter seasons of nature and our life call us to draw close to the Lord, to cease striving and know fullness of joy in his presence. (Psalm 16:11)
I am excited to move into new themes Faith-based yoga for February and springtime! Already, warmer days remind us new life is coming.
Hope to see you at Faith-based yoga soon.
